Commenting on an LDF document

If the document you are viewing is within a contributable phase, the Submit Comments button is displayed and you can submit comments against the document, or against a policy within the document, for this phase.

To comment on an LDF document:

  1. Retrieve the relevant document record as described in Searching for LDF documents.
  2. Click the Submit Comments button.
  3. If you have previously submitted comments, insert your Customer Reference, and click Next Page.
  4. To comment on the document itself, select Document from the What Would You Like To Comment On list.
  5. To comment on a policy within the document, select Policy from the list, then select the policy your comment concerns, and the policy title and reference.
  6. Select the appropriate Nature of Submission option, and click Next Page.
  7. If you selected the Object option, select which of the tests of soundness you believe the document or policy failed, and click Next Page.
  8. Insert the following details about your comment:
    Comment Location The location in the document that your comment refers to.
    Comment Your comment, up to 6000 characters.
    Comment Justification Any justification for the comment, up to 6000 characters.
    Representation Method

    The method by which you want your comment to be represented.

    If you selected Attend Examination, provide your reason for wanting to attend the examination.

  9. Select whether you raised your comment before the document was submitted for examination.

    If you clicked No, insert the reason that you did not raise the point earlier.

  10. Click Next Page. The summary page is displayed.
  11. Review the details of your comment, and then either click Make New Comment to make another comment, or click Submit Comments to submit this and any other comments you have made on this document or policy.
  12. A copy of all of your comments is displayed.
  13. To send documents which back up your comments to the local authority in an e-mail, click E-Mail Attachments. A new e-mail is generated in your default e-mail application, which you can send as normal.
  14. To print your comments, click Print Comments.

Make a note of your customer reference number so that you can use this when making future comments.
